I ran across hootsuite about a year or so ago. It was a cool little program that I was using to coordinate most of my twitter accounts (I only had two at that time). I stopped using it for a bit when I came back to it it had “grown up”. It seemed to be much more in tune with the social media that is out there, as you could also now connect it directly with Facebook, Facebook Fan Pages, Foursquare, Wordpress, Myspace, a few others, and my favorite - Linkedin.
It is now the perfect tool to be able to manage all of my social media accounts. You can also add specific Facebook fan pages that you have created. This makes it extremely easy to manage all of your social media from one specific location. You can then complete all of your Facebook feeds, Twitter feeds, plus any other status’ that you enjoy. I’ve added the console to my Macbook Pro, and am going to add it to my iPod soon so that I can monitor things on the road.
There is one catch of course - you can have the “basic” version for free. This only allows you a maximum of 5 social media accounts - take your pick… I ran out of them pretty quick, so I needed to upgrade to the “pro” account. It wasn’t that much, so I figured it was much easier to do this than to work with so many windows open, plus trying to connect all of the data together from so many different screens that I was used to - I know this was a huge barrier to being able to previously manage my social media feeds much more efficiently with Hootsuite. You can add all of your different feeds, and be extremely specific for how you want to add your various outcomes, such as your DM, messages, retweets, etc.
